Chromebook: General Login/ Browsing Issues and Bad Request - HTTP Error 400

This guide will walk you through how to correct many problems that may occur with login and general browsing issues as well as receiving an HTTP error 400 message. This guide walks you through the process of flushing/clearing DNS (Domain Name Server) cache and clearing troublesome browser files such as cookies, browser cache and temporary internet files in the Google Chrome web browser. 


1. In the Chrome browser's address bar type chrome://net-internals/#dns and press the "Clear host cache" button.







2. On your keyboard press Ctrl+Shift+Delete or Ctrl+H and then click on "Clear browsing data" on the left hand side of the browsing window.





3. Make sure that "Browsing History", "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files" are selected (blue check-mark boxes) and then click the "Clear data" button.




4. Close all browser windows and tabs open in Chrome and then open a new Chrome browser window. Then type in the address bar egcc.edu and hit "Enter" on the keyboard. Click on the "Gateway (Student Portal)" link located in the upper right side of the browser window and enter your full EGCC student email address (username@student.egcc.edu) and click Next and then enter your password.
