1. Open the Outlook Desktop App
- Click on the windows icon “Start”. Usually found in the lower left corner of your screen.

- Type “Outlook”, Then click on the icon.

2. Begin exporting Outlook data.
- Once Outlook has opened click on File in the upper left corner.

- Click on Open & Export

- Click on Import/Export

3. Import and Export Wizard.
- Select Export to a file
- Then click Next

- Select Outlook Data File (.pst)
- Then click Next

- Select data to be exported.
- Select the name of the email account to export, as shown in the picture below. Only information for one account can be exported at a time.
- Make sure that the Include subfolders check box is selected. This ensures that everything in the account will be exported: Inbox, Calendar, Contacts, and Tasks.
- Then click Next

- Click on Browse

- Find a location to save the data.
- Change the file name.
- Then click OK

- If you are exporting to an existing Outlook Data File (.pst), under Options, specify what to do when exporting items that already exist in the file.
- Then click Finish

- Create a password to protect your file.
- This password will need to be retained for importing later.
- If you choose to not create a password leave it blank.
- Click OK

- File will begin to export.

- After your email data is exported to a .pst file, it can be imported to other email accounts.
- When Outlook exports email, contacts, and calendar info to a .pst, it makes a copy of the information. Nothing leaves Outlook. You will still see and have access to your email, contacts, and calendar in Outlook.
- When Outlook exports emails, it includes any attachments to the emails.
- Outlook does not export meta-data such as folder properties, message rules, and blocked senders' lists.
