Recording a Video - Windows Camera App

Step 1: Locate the Program

You will first open your 'Start' menu by clicking on the 'Start' or Windows button (Figure A-1) on your task-bar

(most keyboards also have a Windows key that will open the same menu). Then click and scroll down the

alphabetical list of programs until you find the Camera App then click on it (Figure A-2). You can also use the

search function on the task-bar to find the Camera App (Figure B).

Please note: If your computer did not come with a built in camera or certain versions of Windows may not have the Camera installed by default. In

this case, you may need to search for and install the Camera App from the Microsoft Store. Click here to access the Microsoft Store.

Step 2: Record Your Video

Once the Camera App is open you may need to switch the mode from 'Photo' to 'Video' mode in the middle right side of

the app window (Figure C-1). After you have made sure you are in video mode click the video recorder icon again to start

the recording. Once you are finished click the 'Stop' button that is in the same location the video recorder icon was.

There will be a preview thumbnail of the video you just recorded located in the bottom right side of the app window that you

can click on to play and review your video (Figure C-2).

Note: The Window's Camera app is setup by default to save your recorded videos to the Camera Roll folder located in your Pictures folder.
